work with women every day who want to be
financially prepared for retirement. Unfortunately, there are
many personal as well as societal factors that can make this quite
challenging.
As an example, in August 2006 a study
done by Allianz Insurance, "Women, Money and Power", found
that 90% of women feel at least somewhat financially insecure.
The study showed that along with this financial insecurity, there is
also a tremendous fear of becoming a "bag lady".
Around half (46%) of women had this fear - AND 48% of women with
$100,000+ incomes felt this way as well.
Those are amazing statistics! It
means that you and almost every woman you know harbor some (often
secret) fears about the future.
